Some days, you would walk through the house and see a living settlement blossoming players reading books in the garden, stripping down to their underpants to get in some reps, dismantling bits of furniture to build up the defenses. All three of the main crew had their own cars even, thanks to my character's ability to hotwire. Even when the water connection finally shut off, we'd collected enough rain and wood scraps to disinfect rags and make stew on the daily. We tweaked the settings a little to give us a semblance of security, but Project Zomboid is punishing even on its easiest setting, and it wasn't long before each and every one of us was on our second, third, even our fourth character. More than 10 years after Zombie survival classic Project Zomboid launched, my friends and I finally set up a server. If you don't wanna walk or screw with character importing which I haven't tried, get your character to where you wanna be before importing and loading the save.Death is inevitable. TL DR Just copy any files you have in your SP save into your MP world's folder. Sorry for necrobumping you out, Merry Christmas! I had problems as well, and narrowed the one setting I wanted to change down to it stopping time when nobody is in to prevent everything from rotting. Doing stuff in console and in-game as admin seems to never like my spelling or something. I'm happy having separate games on SP and MP with different characters and worlds but the MP character saves aren't working well for me.Īt the moment, I abuse my admin powers to spawn crap, build up a basic base, and see how well I fare against a big spawned horde.Ī side note on settings, I've found it finnicky to change settings from anywhere but the game's servertest.ini file. The game is pretty fun as it is, but in my experience even getting an online session working can sometimes have pitfalls like inexplicably lost saves, inventory bugs that require a wipe, etc but that's again in my (in)experience. It'll assign local IP's, they connect to yours. It's free, you just install it and add your friends to a party. I've had the best experiences using Evolve, which lets me connect via LAN type thing to friends. Project Zomboid PZ Support Map wont load. As far as I know, your friends should be able to create and store the save locally, and your server will create temp files. I spawned into an SP save I copied into my server as an admin I had already running on the previous serverstate and that character worked fine, so pasting other characters in might work as well. If I knew the layout of the world better I'd say definitively how much of the world transfers in terms of loot or structures. The settings thing is no fun sometimes, I myself wasn't able to play the game at all for quite some time and I'm not very familiar anymore. I'd really like to be able to open up a map to others, help them get a start and wander around together. If so, can you provide details and the directories needed for proper save/replacing, thank you. So can I copy Single Player Maps over to Multiplayer file for use, and replace the default one?Īlso without changing any of the world settings from the default as this seems to cause issues with connecting for Co-op. I love the update rate, but I'm just wondering if there's an easier way to get a Co-op World going faster, for ease. I'm just tired of starting from scratch all the time. I'd like a nice place to head to, and if friends join I can hand over some gear and we can head off into the world. But I get tired of trying to back up my saves, starting over with new people and basically doing the first few weeksoverand over. Then if possible, copy that worldmap file to where ever I need to put it in the Mutiplayer file. And lastly you have to make sure the areas where the maps are spawning are not explored. I'm curious if I can "build up a map" in single player using NecroForge, and then copy the map file to multiplayer files somewhere and use that as my starter map?īasically I'd like to Build up a nice HQ with supplies without touching the surroundings or looting by using the NecroForge Mod. 1 The Baron JJ 5:14am Originally posted by Beard: Make sure you enable them in the mods, workshop and maps tabs in the server settings, also make sure to load the modded maps before the main map.
